Emotions are evergreen!

The scenes flashing on the back of my mind screen change. Just the ones on the walls stay forever. Moments are cherished, lived and relived everyday, the happiness lingers for ever. Smiles will never be forgotten, emotions will never fade. Feelings lost and found, heart bent and mend, reasons searched to live another day.

Always!

“5 years, it’s a long time you know, things change”, she murmured slowly under her breath, not sure if he heard her right. Her eyes still glued to his face, her hand paused on the door knob.
“And us?” He whispered into the night, his mind shuffling through words, all lost when he saw her break. None of them spoke.
The night was mysterious, the sky had a tint of red in it, it felt like the scene had been painted, for everything was so quiet. For the first time in a long time, everything was quiet, just their racing hearts were dancing.
“Things change”, exactly what he had said, 5 years ago. He had dread the moment from weeks, his mind was numb seeing her break.
“And us?” She struggled with words, breathing heavily, her cheeks numb with tears. The same door, the same step, a different year, a different night.
“It will always be us”, his heart had spoken that night.
It had been an awfully silent night. How hard it had been for him to leave, how painful it was, but how crucial it was at that time. She understood of course, yet letting him go was the hardest. How many stories she had to tell her drowning heart. Priorities had been different then. Now the time has passed, their hearts knew nothing had changed, just the calendar dates.
Seeing him standing on her doorstep this evening had been astonishing. Her brain had jammed, though her heart had leaped into delight seeing his brilliant smile. Mesmerized by his smile, and his charming face made her cheeks flush. A positive sign, he had assumed.
A simple “Hello” one more time, and a million things had started again that evening. Laughter was all that could be heard once again in her house. The same couch, the same smiling faces, different stories. Magical it felt, how nothing felt out of place. Same friends, two fluttering hearts, different emotions this time.
Letting him go felt hard again tonight, it had been a long time. She couldn’t just ask him to stay, what if he had only come to meet his old friend, whom he had never forget. Moments passed, and they were still standing motionless, both of them had forgotten what happiness had felt like. Reliving their past days, a smile spread on his face. He saw her eyes getting numb.
“It’s always us.” She said.

How time had leaped, how they had matured, how madly in love two friends still were.
